William R “Ronnie Buck”. Buckman, age 74, longtime Ridgway resident passed on this life October 12, 2022 in Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, IN after an extended illness from the result of an accident. Ronnie as most knew him was born in the River Bottoms East of Ridgway on March 15, 1948 to the late Lockett and Margaret (Yackle) Buckman.
Ronnie attended Ridgway High School and served his country honorably during Vietnam in the United States Army. He was a over the road Commercial Truck Driver most of his life before retiring. He loves the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, enjoyed socializing with his friends, had a contagious smile, a quick wit and mischievous sense of humor as he enjoyed kidding around with his friends. He had great heart and personality and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his son, Shane (Stacy) Smith, daughters, Rebecca, Rhonda, and Johnna Buckman, grandchildren, Jaden Sparks, Aubrey Medlin, Michael, Rowan, and Samantha Smith, Joseph, Tony, and Darrell Buckman, great grandchildren, Mason Sparks, Liam, Charlotte, and Emily Buckman. Brothers, Jerry, Darrell and Mike Buckman. Sisters, Emily Foster and Rita Bond. Many Nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Gail Thayer. He was also preceded by one brother, Kenneth Buckman.
Visitation for Ronnie Buck will be on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will immediately follow at the Asbury cemetery northeast of Ridgway where Military rites will be accorded. His brother Mike Buckman will preside over the committal.
