Virginia Faye (Roark) Wilson, cherished wife, loving mother, and devoted grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, in Newburgh, Indiana, at the age of 84. Born on January 8, 1941, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to the late Herbert Lee & Sarah Alice (Bean) Roark. Faye was known for her warmth, kindness, and a spirit that touched everyone she met.
Faye was surrounded by love throughout her life, particularly after marrying the love of her life, Wayne Wilson, on July 10, 1961. Their partnership blossomed into a beautiful journey that lasted for 63 wonderful years, filled with shared experiences, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they created a nurturing environment for their family, highlighting the importance of spending time together and cherishing each memory made.
Faye was a proud mother to her four children: Carl (Jolene) Blazier, Ronnie (Sharon) Wilson, Kevin Wilson, and Sandy (Nathan) Byers. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Athena Blazier, Levi Blazier, Chris Byers, Brandy Byers, Logan (Cherry) Byers, Joe (Jacklyn) Wilson, Madison Wilson, and Hannah Wilson,4 great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Cade, Cora, and Claire. Each of them carries a piece of her unyielding love and gentle spirit.
A dedicated member of the community, Faye attended the First United Presbyterian Church in New Haven, Illinois, where her faith and compassion inspired others. She was often remembered for her interests in traveling, especially to Cancun, where she enjoyed creating beautiful memories various places she visited.
Faye's family reflects on the unforgettable memories spent with her, valuing the love and joy she brought into their lives. She is also mourned by her sisters, Judy Morris and Pat (Darrell) Clodfelter, who will forever cherish their bond. Virginia now joins her beloved parents, H.L. and Sarah Bean Roark, as well as her brothers, Dale and Bertis Roark & brother-in-law Pat Morris.
As friends and family gather to celebrate Faye's life, they will remember her not just for the years she lived but for the love she spread and the countless ways she touched their hearts. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven, Illinois. Funeral service will take place Thursday, March 27,2025 at 1:00 PM at First United Presbyterian Church in New Haven, IL, with interment following at Asbury Cemetery.
