Theda J. Miller, age 84 longtime Ridgway resident passed on from this life, August 6, 2018 in Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado. Theda was born in Harrisburg on October 2, 1933 to the late Virgil and Cartha M. (Harrawood) Lovellette. She was a Harrisburg High School graduate of the class of 1950 and attended SIU. On June 6, 1952 she married J.C. Miller who survives.
Theda had worked at the 1st National Bank in Harrisburg, had a childcare at her home for many years and was an incredible homemaker all of her life. She was a very faithful member of the Ridgway First Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher, the Bible School Director for many years, and in the Glory Beams class at church. She was a 50+ year Eastern Star member in Ridgway and also a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was always a very caring, kind and loving person. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by many.
Theda is survived by her husband J.C. Miller, 1 son, Stanley (Sharon) Miller of Ridgway, and 1 daugher, Susan J. Miller (Denny Barker) of Somerset, KY. 6 Grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew) Duffy, Kyle (Tracie) Fritschle, Andrew Fritschle, Natasha (Erich) Moberly, Ashlei (Brent) Burdine, and Courtney Barker, Great grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas and Jacey Duffy, Ethan and Annabelle Fritschle, Elsa, Halston and Mazie Moberly, Kennedy, Cross and Ezra Cohen Burdine, Jayden Cantrell, Bentlee Barker and Adrianna Fisher. 1 Brother Duane(Edna) Lovellette.
Visitation for Theda will be on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Her Eastern Star funeral will be at 7:00 PM. Funeral service for Theda will be on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM. Rev. J.B. Gates, Rev. Russell Helton and Rev. David Auxier will officiate and interment will immediately follow in the Lindale Cemetery near Eldorado.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ridgway First Baptist Church , the Saint Andrew School in Murphysboro, or Pulaski County Alzheimer’s Respite Center, Somerset Kentucky
