Raymond N. Miles

Raymond N. Miles, age 75, lifelong Gallatin County resident in the Eagle Creek community passed on this life, December 19, 2017 in the Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, IN.  Raymond was born on the family farm near where he lives today, on March 2, 1942 to the late Bernard and Velma (McPherson) Miles.  On October 26, 1963 he married the love of his life, Nigel (Mobley) Miles who survives.

Raymond worked as a heavy equipment operator for different coal companies.  He was an active member of the United Mine Workers Association and also farmed.  Raymond was a good man, husband, dad, papaw and friend, he will be missed by many.  Raymond was a Baptist by faith and attended the Pisgah General Baptist Church. 

Raymond is survived by his wife Nigel Miles of Junction, a son Alan Miles of Junction, 2 granddaughters, Rachel (Joel) Kaiser of Evansville, IN, Sarah Miles of Junction.  1 Brother, Marvin (Linda) Miles of Junction and 3 sister in laws, Maggie Miles of Junction, Judy Greenwell of Morganfield, Ky, and Wilma Chandler of Lakeland, FL and Margie Mobley of New Haven, IL.  He was preceded in death by a daughter Teresa and a brother Bernard Miles.

Visitation for Raymond will be on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 10:00AM to 1:00 PM.  His funeral will immediately follow at the funeral home starting at 1:00 PM with Rev. Steve Hunt officiating.  His burial will take place privately at the Leamington Cemetery.
