Phyllis R. Ballard

Phyllis R. Ballard age 81 of New Port Richey, FL but formerly longtime Shawneetown resident died on September 10, 2015 in Florida. Phyllis was born on August 3, 1934 in Junction, IL to the late Ernie and Anna (Riley) Rodgers. She was married on September 27, 1955 to Ben Ballard and he preceded her in death in 2010. Ben and Phyllis owned and operated Eldorado Automotive for many years before retiring. She loved Cardinal Baseball and loved to dance. Phyllis was always happy and had a smile for everyone. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her son Jeffery (Cindy) Ballard of New Port Richey, FL, 3 grandchildren, Chelsea Clampett, Morgan April, Logan Ballard, 2 step grandchildren Tricia Meyer and Kelly Morgan, 1 great grandchild and 5 Step great great grandchildren, she also survived by her sister Vickie (Jerry) Walker. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Bill, Edgar, Leon and Charles Rodgers, and 5 sisters, Elsie Grumley, Suzanne Park ,Betty Lackey, Anna Lois Lackey and Ailene Tucker.

The service for Phyllis will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 PM and her funeral service will immediately follow. Rev. Jack Hall will officiate and she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown.
