Michael Cox

Michael Wayne “Mike” Cox, age 54, lifelong New Haven resident, passed on this life, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home.  Mike as most knew him was born in Carmi, Il on September 8, 1965 to John and Barbara ( Musgraves) Cox.  On Jan. 27, 2015 he married Tommie (McDowell) Cox.

Mike had worked for many years with his parents operating Cox Disposal service.  He loved to go to the movies, follow wrestling on TV and was a huge Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboy fan.  He loved the most to be with his family.  He will be missed

Mike is survived by his wife, Tommie Cox of New Haven, his mother, Barb Cox of New Haven and children,  Michael Cox of Shawneetown, Kyle Cox of Evansville, IN, Jacob Cox of Norris City, Il, Levi Birdwell of Evansville, IN, Dalton Birdwell of New Haven and Logan Birdwell of Evansville, IN.  2 grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kristen Cox.  And his brother David (Amy) Cox.  He was preceded in death by his father John Cox and a son Trey Birdwell  He is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

There will be a graveside service for Mike on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.  Rev. Mike Buckman will officiate.  Those wanting to attend should meet at cemetery.  You may leave a note of comfort or obtain an memorial for him at www.coxandson.com
