Mary E. Oxford, age 82, longtime Ridgway resident died on April 25, 2014 in the Ridgway Rehab and Nursing Center. Mary was born in Junction, IL on Feb. 27, 1932 to the late Virgil and Katherine (Loewen) Mead. She was lifelong grain and livestock farmer. On November 16, 1950 she married Bud Oxford who preceded her in death in 1975. Together, they raised, bred and raced thoroughbred race horses. Mary loved being outside and working on the farm, but most of all enjoyed fishing at her beautiful lake near her home. Mary is survived by a daughter, Judy (Robert) Taylor of Cleveland, TN, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Barbegine Smith, formerly of Ridgway, and a special person, Kert Pemberton who has helped her on the farm for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Jim Oxford. Visitation for Mary will be on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway with her funeral service to immediately follow starting at 1:00 PM. Rev.
