Mary Lou Gibbons age 85 of Harrisburg, passed on this life July 10, 2018 at her home from an extended illness. Mary Lou was born August 22, 1932 in New Haven to the late Howard and Dorothy Clifford. She was married to Jim Gott of New Haven having 2 children, Mike (Cindy) Gott of Harrisburg and Penny (Randy) Duvall of Carmi. She later married Otis Gibbons and he preceded her in death.
Mary Lou retired as the Commissary Director of the A.L. Bowen Center in Harrisburg. She loved to dance and make her home into a “Winter Wonderland” at Christmas. She had a smile that was contagious and loved to visit with her family and friends. She was a good mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed.
Mary Lou is also survived by five Grandchildren, Shane Smith (Stacy), Rhonda Buckman, Ashley Gott (Amanda), and Arron Gott (Markie Lin) and Dana Barnum, Great Grandmother to fourteen, Michael James Smith, Meghan Smith, Samantha Smith, Jamie Gott, Alex Gott, Jeremy Gott, Joseph Buckman, Tony Buckman, D.J. Buckman, Dakotah Barnum, Darakah Barnum, Dallas Barnum, R.J. Barnum, and Reignah Barnum, and Great Great Grandmother to Koral, E.J., Liam, Nic and Charlotte. She is survived by her two children and sister, Faye Bass, of Evansville and brother, Ernie Clifford, of DuQuoin. She was preceded in death by her Brothers Elmer, Roy, and Junior Clifford and Sisters, Lilly Bridgeman, Ruth Leeke and Thelma Louise Clifford
Graveside services for Mary Lou will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery
