Marvin Bobby Almon

Marvin Almon Jr, age 80 died peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2015 in Ferrell Hospital. Marvin or Bobby as some knew him was born in Princeton, Ky, on March 15, 1935 to the late Marvin O. Almon and Iva (Witherspoon) Almon. Bobby was a retired coal miner in which he loved to do. In retirement he enjoyed, gardening especially taking his harvest to friends, his dogs but really enjoyed being around friends to visit. He always had a smile and a kind word for you and will be missed.

He is survived by 2 sons, Randy and Bobby Almon, and a daughter, Anna Larson. 6 grandchildren, James Kyle, Dakota and Rachel Leann Almon, Zachariah and Mariah Almon and John Larson. 4 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Almon and a sister, Wanda.

Visitation for Marvin will be on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. His funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home with Rev. Alan Porter officiating and interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
