Martha O'Neil

Martha A. O’Neil, age 84, of Mt. Vernon, IN, passed on this life, Saturday, October 17, 2020 in Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, IN.

Martha was born in Ridgway, IL on December 15, 1935 to the late Ernie and Cora (Williams) Anderson.  On December 29, 1951 she married the love of her life, R.C. O’Neil who preceded her in death in 2015.

Martha was always a homemaker, she loved Needlework, Embroidery, playing softball, exercising, playing cards and loved angels.  She was a [TC1] member of the Glory Road Baptist Church in Evansville and Chapter 1 of the Order of Eastern Star in Mt. Vernon.  Martha was a good wife, wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed.

Martha is survived by her sons, Rod (Tammy) O’Neil of Mt. Vernon, and Marty (Helen) O’Neil of Mt. Vernon, 6 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and one on the way.  A sister Reba Vaught of Millstadt, IL.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Steven, a grandson, Ryan O’Neil, great grand child, Liam, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visitation for Martha will be on Saturday, October 25, 2020 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM her funeral service will immediately follow starting 1:00 PM with Rev. Delbert Bryant officiating.  She will then be laid to rest with her husband and son in Old Cottonwood Cemetery.
