Lawrence Rider

Lawrence B. Rider, age 68 lifelong Ridgway resident passed on this life, October 23, 2018 at the home of his mother after an extended illness.  Lawrence was born on June 9, 1950 in Eldorado, IL to Bennie and Bernice (Murphy) Rider.

He was Catholic by faith, a member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway.  Lawrence spent his entire life East of Ridgway, farming with his family.  His focus in life was work.  He always worked and maintained all the equipment, barns and grounds of the farm.  Although a private person, he had a very kind side with a smile or kind word for you.   He will be missed.

Lawrence is survived by his mother, Bernice Rider of Junction, 2 sisters, Margaret (Benny) Rash of Shawneetown, Alene (John) Shea of Junction, IL, a niece, Brenda (Jeremy) Stuby of Junction, Nephews, Ronnie and Johnny Shea of Junction, David (Emma) Rash of Shawneetown, and Kevin (Claudine) Rash of Mammoth Arizona.  He was preceded in death by his father Bennie Rider.

Lawrence will be laid to rest in St. Patrick cemetery near his home on Friday, October 26, 2018 with Monsignor Joseph Lawler officiating.  Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway is entrusted with the arrangements.  You may leave a note of comfort to the family at www.coxandson.co
