Laura L Norris

Laura Lee Norris, age 81, died peacefully in Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, In on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Laura was born on August 31, 1930 in New Haven, IL to the late Clyde and Willamine (Browning) Lawrence. Laura was married to the late John Norris who preceded her in death 2005. Laura and John had lived in Las Vegas and Reno where they worked before retiring back to New Haven in 1992. Laura was a member of the New Haven American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a Christian. She loved to visit with family and friends and stay in her home. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed.

Laura is survived by 1 daughter, Lynne Davis of New Haven, IL, 2 sisters, Leveda Pyle of New Haven and Ilean Downs of Godfrey, IL, 5 grandchildren, Mickey Graville, Stephanie Graville, Katie Ashtond, Dawn Wendelton and Shawn McDowell, 9 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 nephew Chris (Robin) Pyle, 1 niece, Regina Brucki and a uncle Paul Lawrence. She was preceded by her parents, husband, and a son Terry Burnam.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be on January 3, 2012 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven with Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends after 11 AM followed by the memorial service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Union Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
