John E Trousdale Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this world on April 17, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Ridgway, Illinois. Born on August 22, 1948, in Ridgway, IL to the late John E. & Pearl (Rollman) Trousdale Sr.
John lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, and the great love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren.
John dedicated himself to the trade of welding, a career that not only provided for his loved ones but also reflected his touch for craftsmanship and problem-solving. He approached every task with meticulous attention to detail, whether he was in the shop or enjoying life’s simpler pleasures outdoors.
Known for his jovial spirit, John delighted in the great outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. His passion extended to the open road, where he embraced the freedom of the ride on his beloved Harley Davidson. Those who knew him will fondly remember the warm stories he shared, often accompanied by laughter that echoed through the hearts of all around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Trousdale, whose bond with John was a testament to true partnership. Their daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Wilson, along with their four adored grandchildren—Lathan Koontz, Maddison Koontz, Gunner (fiancé Maddie Bowen) Wilson, and Grayson Wilson—were the light of his life. John took immense joy in watching them grow, pursuing their interests, while always encouraging them with unwavering support and affection. Along with siblings Jim McGrew & Janice Talkington.
John is preceded in death by parents John & Pearl Trousdale, daughter, Tammy Trousdale (Donald) Koontz, siblings, Janet Baldwin & Jerry (Debbie) Trousdale, and brother-in-law, Mike Talkington.
As we gather to honor John’s remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, IL on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM with Rev.
