James Kopman

James B. Kopman, age 61 of Elizabethtown, IL (High Knob Area) passed on this life, October 29, 2021.  James was born in Hill Crest, IL on October 6, 1960 to the late Harold and Hazel (Colbert) Kopman.

James was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and hunting.  He learned to paint cars at young age., but was known for his expert transmission repair.  He was retired from Jim Hayes in Jan. 2021 after 33 years of service.  While there he continued with updated training becoming a Star Chrysler mechanic.  James loved working on and building his 69 Roadrunner for car shows with friends.  He really enjoyed keeping everyone fed with his cooking, riding horses and hanging out with his friends on the back porch.  He was a good father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by many.

James is survived by, his son, Bryan (Brandy) Kopman, a daughter, Jamie (Rob) Harrington, grandchildren, Bella Kopman, Brennan Harrington, Riley Harrington and Sierra (Harrington) Aloffo.  One sister, Linda (Rich) Banis. Along with a host of friends.

A memorial gathering will be on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 12 PM at his home and everyone is welcome.

Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the charity of your choice or any monetary donations will be used to buy Toys for underprivileged children.
