Helen Bond

Helen Geneva (Klaffer) Bond, age 76, of Ridgway, passed away March 18, 2020 in the Gallatin Manor Nursing Center.  Helen was born on February 17, 1944 in Eldorado, IL, the daughter of Dan and Geneva (Horton) Klaffer.  She was married to Doug Bond on November 15, 1962 and Doug preceded Helen on August 24, 2009.

Helen was a faithful member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway.  She loved being with her family.  Her hobbies were crocheting and loved Cardinal baseball

Helen is survived by 2 daughters, Janie (Gregg) Drone of Eldorado, IL and Cathy Fromm (Jim Neumann) of Ridgway. Her grandchildren are, Mandy Drone (Jameson Cummins) of Eldorado, Megan (Jonathan) Frost of Pleasant View, TN and Justin (Mercedes) Fromm of Glen Carbon, IL  Great grandchildren, Lincoln, Colton and Weston Frost and Marcus Fromm.  Special niece, Cindy (Larry) Smith; Step grandchild Sam Neumann and Step Great Grandchildren, Caden and Colin Cummins. Cousin, Doris Petty of West Frankfort, IL, Brother in Laws and Sister in Laws, Jane Bond, Clarke Bond, Carl (Linda Sue) Bond, Gene (Sandy) Bond and Joyce Bond.  Several special nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Timmy Drone, sisters, Milly (Bud) Sims, Velma (Jim) Jones, Linda M. Bond, brother, Delmar (Becky) Klaffer, her in laws, OF and Lorene Bond, her son in law, Mark Fromm, brother in laws, Cleve Bond, Cletus Bond.

Helen’s service is private and is entrusted to Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway.  Fr. Steven Beatty will celebrate mass and she will be laid to rest in the Crawford Campground Cemetery in Ridgway next to her husband.
