Gary E. McCoy

Gary E. McCoy, age 68, of Ridgway died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at this home after an extended illness. Gary was born in East St. Louis on January 1, 1942 to the late Henry & Reathel (Asa) McCoy. He served his country in Vietnam in the Marines. Gary was married to the former Betty Stennett who preceded him in death. Gary retired from Pfizer pharmaceuticals. Gary was a member of the New Haven American Legion. He loved to be around his family and friends and was always a very sociable person. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend and will be missed greatly.

Gary is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Todd) Rider of Ridgway 2 sons, Cory McCoy of St. Charles, Mo and Brian McCoy of St. Louis, MO. 1 Sister, Evelyn Leach of O'Fallon, IL and 5 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Services for Gary will be on Saturday, April 24, 2010 starting at 11:00 AM at the Cox & Son funeral home in Ridgway. Visitation for Gary will be on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Lyndal Sork will officiate it. Interment will be in the Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway and military rites will be performed at the cemetery.
