Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy N. Johnson, age 93 of Evansville, IN but formerly longtime resident of Norris City, Il died peacefully on October 22, 2012 in the Terrace of Solarbron. Dorothy was born in Iron, IL on December 26, 1918 to the late Vay Buttry and Ola (Murphy) Buttry. She was married in 1940 to Vaughn Johnson who preceded her in death in 2006. She was a homemaker and helped her husband Vaughn throughout their marriage. She love to Cook, Can, and and Gardening. She had worked at the Chicago Candy Factory and they farmed. Dorothy was a good woman, wonderful wife, sister , aunt and friend.

Dorothy is survived by a brother Starlus Buttry, nieces and nephews, Diane Burkhart, Raymond Buttry, Stella Valetta Knowles, Aubrey Catlin, Ralph Jordan, and Dr. Charles Gilpin and several great and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Otel Buttry, Sister, Euland Buttry and Ruth Buttry Catlin and a niece Carmen Mattingly.

The family would like to thank the Solarbron Staff for their wonderful care of Dorothy.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Norris City at 10:00 AM. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
