Darrell Dixon

Darrell G. Dixon, age 77 of Eldorado formerly of Ridgway passed on this life peacefully on March 24, 2021, in Deaconess Gateway Hospital, Newburgh, IN.  Darrell was born in Harrisburg, IL on December 11, 1943, to the late James and Ruth (Sanders) Dixon.

Darrell graduated from Ridgway High School and then obtained a Bachelors's Degree from Murray State University.  He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

Darrell or Double DD as some knew him loved to be around his friends and family, he especially loved his grandson.   Always had a story and a smile for you.  He will be missed by many.

Darrell is survived by his daughter, DiDi (Gary) Seagraves of Eldorado, his grandson Blaze Seagraves and step-grandson, Breyer Seagraves.  A sister, Linda (Don) Gossett of Eldorado, brother-in-law, John Tate, nieces and nephews, Jamie Byrd, Ashley Green, Kris Miller, Jica Mcloud, Mark, and John Tate.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Farrah Dixon, and a sister, Darla Tate.

Graveside service for Darrell will be on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway where he will be laid to rest by his family.  Those wanting to attend should meet at the cemetery.  Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery.
