Bobby Wayne Sharp, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Madisonville, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 20, 1966, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to the late Robert and Elsie (Belt) Sharp.
Bobby dedicated over 21 years of his life to his profession as a truck driver, embodying the hard work and integrity that defined him throughout his life. Known for his kindness and consideration, he was a good Christian man whose faith deeply influenced his way of living. Bobby's passions extended beyond his career; he was an avid woodworker, enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and cherished every opportunity to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing.
Family was the center of Bobby's world, and he took immense pride in his role as a husband and father. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherri Sharp, and their sons, Jackie (Tristan) Sharp and Jakeb (Kymberlyn) Malone, & their daughters, Megan Brooks, who is engaged to Michael Tabor, and Megan Gentles. Additionally, he was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Kayla Brooks, Raelynn, Brynleigh, and Jaxtyn Sharp, as well as Caden and Noah Postin, and Maddyx Malone.
Bobby is also remembered by his siblings, Laverne Jackson, Joann Barger, Wanda Sharp, and Diane Sharp. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Sharp and sister Ruby Sharp, both of whom held a special place in his heart.
Visitation services will be held at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown, Illinois, on March 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place the following day, March 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Equality, Illinois.
